Be your own Brand: Me (TM)

Using the example of the student’s own brand, this module provides an introduction to Visual Communication, history and strategy of visualization, typography and graphic design. It gives an overview starting with simple typographical exercises finishing with complex visual designs for on-screen application.
The module has two segments: Morning lectures in design theory and afternoon exercises in application handling. The days are wrapped by a checkpoint to review design results and instruct students to refine the work further.
Students are expected to attend class, read the pre-assigned literature, participate in discussion and complete practical assignments.
The student’s learning results will be documented in a personal portfolio of applied design work including a business card, letterhead, a personal slide show template and website as a first step towards the student’s own visual brand identity.
