Banana Republic Inc., one of the three divisions of GAP Inc., revamped it’s image in 2000. Starting with this prominent flagship which is located in the most prestigious, highly trafficked retail sites of the world the Rockefeller Center in New York City. With windows on 63rd Street and Madison Avenue and 48.000 sq. ft. of retail space, this store was a result of extensive research and development, defining THE contemporary shopping experience. Other than through its updated look, the store also features technological updates. Cell phone charging, Palm Pilot services providing store locations, coat and bag check out, valet parking among them To me the most important improvement was solstice lighting in the dressing rooms: A light adjustment dial that allows customers to see how their look will appear in natural daylight or artificial evening light.
